FENNEL are back-to-back champions in Japan. The League of Legends Japan League (LJL) 2026 Spring Series concluded with FENNEL defeating Rising Gaming 3-2 in a tightly-contested five-game final, securing the team's second title of the 2026 season following their Winter Series victory earlier this year.
A five-game thriller
Rising Gaming pushed FENNEL to the absolute limit in the Spring Series final. The series went the full distance, with Rising Gaming refusing to go quietly and forcing the match into a decisive fifth game. FENNEL, however, proved they had the mental fortitude and team cohesion to close out when it mattered most, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory to retain their title.
FENNEL establish dominance in Japan
This Winter + Spring double makes FENNEL the undisputed top team in Japan's 2026 season so far. Having already lifted the LJL Winter Series trophy, adding the Spring Series crown cements their position as the clear benchmark for every other LJL squad. Their next challenge will be the LJL Summer Championship, set to run from July 13 to September 6 2026, where they will look to make it a hat-trick of titles in one calendar year.
LJL within the LCP ecosystem
The LJL now operates as a domestic feeder league within the broader LCP (League of Legends Championship Pacific) structure, alongside the VCS (Vietnam), LCO (Oceania), and former PCS teams. Strong LJL performances translate into opportunities at the LCP level, where the region's best teams compete for slots at global events such as MSI and Worlds. With FENNEL's continued dominance, their ambitions at the LCP level will be closely watched when the LCP Split 3 gets underway in late July 2026.
FENNEL's Winter + Spring 2026 double puts them in a league of their own in Japan — and raises the question of who can stop them at the Summer Championship.
